Introduction
Summer is a season of extreme weather conditions, bringing both intense heat and challenges for many vulnerable individuals. While many people find ways to escape the heat, orphans and homeless individuals have no such luxury. They struggle to survive under the scorching sun, often barefoot and with empty stomachs. The summer season, which many enjoy, becomes a nightmare for those without shelter or proper care.
Why Summer is Crucial for Orphans
During summer, the risks for orphans and homeless individuals increase significantly. Many orphans roam the streets barefoot, exposed to the burning ground, and suffer from extreme dehydration and heat-related illnesses. Hunger becomes even more severe as they lack access to nutritious food and clean drinking water. For elderly homeless individuals, summer can be fatal. Many lose their lives on dividers and garbage dumps because they cannot bear the extreme heat. The rising temperatures put their lives at constant risk, making it essential to provide them with proper shelter, food, and medical care.
Our Responsibility and Commitment
At Amma Nanna Anada Ashramam, we believe it is our duty to protect and care for these individuals. We work tirelessly, day and night, to provide food, shelter, and medical attention to orphans and the elderly suffering in the heat. Our goal is to give them a dignified life, where they do not have to struggle for basic necessities.
Currently, there are over 600 orphans under our care at Amma Nanna Orphanage. With the arrival of summer, they require more attention, nutritious food, and special care to prevent dehydration and other heat-related illnesses. Providing them with essential summer facilities is not something that can be done by one person alone. It requires collective efforts and the generous support of kind-hearted donors like you.
