Dr. Gaurav Kharya is a globally recognized bone marrow transplant surgeon, celebrated for his pioneering contributions to haploidentical transplants for sickle cell disease (SCD) and other blood disorders. With over two decades of experience, he holds the record for the most successful bone marrow transplants for SCD in India, performing nearly 1000 transplants over the past 7 years. His innovative protocols have made haploidentical transplants a preferred solution when a full donor match is unavailable.
After completing his education and training at prestigious institutions in India and the UK, Dr. Kharya returned to India in 2014, dedicating his efforts to making bone marrow transplants more accessible and affordable. His clinical expertise spans blood disorders, pediatric cancers, and immunological diseases, with a special focus on cutting-edge treatments like CAR T cell therapy and gene manipulation. He is also at the forefront of developing cell and gene therapy products in India.
